Statement on the Rally on February 27, 2026
25 February 2026
Dear Students,
Yesterday, a call to action for a rally—featuring our logo, among others—was shared, but we are NOT involved in this event.
As the AStA, we were approached about organizing a rally to simplify exam conditions for students in crisis-stricken areas, and we were willing to do so. It is important to us to create space for students who advocate for this expansion of exam opportunities.
However, under this pretext, a call to action was published in collaboration with various organizations, which we as the AStA do not support. This call for the rally, as well as the participation of other organizations, was only shared with us after it was published; we had initially assumed it was a different call.
When criticism arose, we reviewed the post and determined that we do not support either the call or the organizers. Critical comments were also deleted, which goes against our commitment to a culture of free debate and democratic exchange. We should have verified the participation of other organizations in advance; we are addressing internally why this did not happen.
We apologize for the confusion caused by this call. In the near future, we will create opportunities to discuss together how we can foster genuine international solidarity among students on our campus.
Your AStA
