Education Instead of Bombs. IJV Workshop

2:30–4:00 p.m.
Room to be announced...

Budget cuts at the university, worsening study conditions, and precarious working conditions on the one hand—billions for military buildup, special funds, and arms exports on the other. While cuts are being made in areas like education, massive resources are flowing into militarization.

So can the fight against budget cuts be separated from anti-militarist movements like the school strike movement? We want to discuss together why a consistent movement against cuts on campus must necessarily be antimilitarist. How are austerity policies and military buildup directly linked? Why must we, as students and staff, also oppose the reintroduction of mandatory military service, war research at universities, and arms production?

Women & Their (Invisible) History. Workshop by HINARA e. V.

12:30–2:00 p.m.
Room 0029 (VMP 5, AStA Wing)

Mesopotamia was the cradle of free women, yet it was also here that their enslavement began. Before the rise of patriarchy, women were goddesses, but as oppression increased, their history became increasingly obscured. With the rise of patriarchy, the process of rendering women invisible also began—a process that continues to this day. Women remain “objects” both in their social roles and in history. What challenges do we face, and how can we anchor them in historical context? How do we reveal their invisible truth?
