The two chairs represent students both within the university, such as to the presidium, and externally to the city (senate and citizenship), as well as to the press, and coordinate the work of the AStA. The chairs also take care of the organizational business as well as the hiring of staff such as project staff, info-café people and consultants.

AStA sessions take place every two weeks on Tuesday from 3.00 p.m. in the AStA-wing (VMP 5), room 0029.
