Culture and political education
More Culture on Campus—for You and With You!
We want to create more cultural and regular activities on campus—for you and together with you. To help you find a balance amid the stresses of everyday student life, we offer the cultural course program as well as events as part of “Students Connect.” The cultural course program includes everything from self-defense and salsa to beginner-level language courses in Arabic or Spanish. Through “Studis vernetzen sich,” you can participate in our game nights, the running club, or the reading café.
Political Education: Social Criticism Instead of Training for the Job Market
When we at the AStA engage in political education, we reflect on the conditions at the university under capitalism. We see it as our mission to spark political debates among the student body. Through collective discussions, we aim to get to the root of the causes of exploitation, domination, and ideological delusion, and to expose legitimizing interpretations for what they are. If you’d like to explore these issues further, you can attend our socially critical tutorials or read our campus magazine, New Critique.
If you have any requests or suggestions for future programs, feel free to email us!
